Art Therapy

Sometimes what we want or need to communicate most can’t be said in words.  Emotions can be difficult, unyielding, too much. Creative expression is the energy of the body and spirit.  Feelings that stay unprocessed can lead to a loss of energy and a hopelessness. 

Art therapy is a powerful healing modality that saves lives. Art involves everything we do, every part of us.  What we cannot put into words we can energetically draw.  Art therapy is not about masterpieces . It is about expressing what is going on with and within you.  When we create our emotions and experiences come out in a line, squiggles, or visual stories. That is the beauty and strength of the process of creating.  Freud believed that dreams were the royal road to the unconscious.  I believe the route is through art.

  You can draw, paint, collage,  or make small sculpture. The process of creating art can access feelings, activate memories and generate the process of healing.
